This is the Japanese edition of an album released in 1966 as part of the Electronic Music series launched by Turnabout in the U.S. in 1965. John Cage's "Fontana Mix" remains unchanged, but Luciano Berio's "Visage" and Ilhan Mimaroglu's "Agony," which were included on the U.S. release, have been replaced with Berio's Thema (Omaggio a Joyce) and Jacob Druckman's Animus I. Cage’s A1 is musique concrète created solely using magnetic tape. Berio’s A2 was produced at the electronic music studio of the Italian Broadcasting Corporation in Milan and features electroacoustic sounds reconstructed from deconstructed poetry. Druckman’s B1 is experimental music for trombone and tape.
