As Long As There’s Music
Artistshouse (Japan) 1978 GP 3166 (LP) gatefold sleeve.
sleeve : VG+(wear on corner, dirts.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly noises.)
A duo album released in 1977, recorded by bassist Charlie Haden and pianist Hampton Hawes, who had been collaborating since the 1950s. Before the birth of free jazz, Haden explored new directions in jazz alongside Ornette Coleman and Don Cherry in California. He later showcased his remarkable playing in the avant-garde jazz scene through collaborations with numerous artists. The album features a serene and deeply expressive performance throughout, exemplified by track A3, which begins with Haden’s quiet, measured plucking of the bass, gradually joined by Hawes’ emotional piano. A beautiful work filled with organic emotion.
A1: Irene
A3: Hello/Goodbye
