This is a 1976 album by the American pianist Duke Jordan, a master who honed his skills under the mentorship of Coleman Hawkins, Charlie Parker, Art Farmer, and others, and helped shape the jazz scene from the 1950s onwards alongside Sonny Stitt and Stan Getz. The album features a quartet with Chuck Wayne (guitar), Sam Jones (bass), and Roy Haynes (drums). All tracks feature original scores by Jordan, showcasing a mature and sophisticated style of jazz without pretension. Jordan's piano shines particularly on slow ballad tunes, but with the addition of Wayne's guitar, the trio creates an even more comfortable groove throughout the album.
