An album recorded in 1958 by American trombonist Frank Rosolino, who, after playing in Stan Kenton's group in the early 1950s, relocated to California in 1954 and performed with Howard Ramsey’s group as well as in a quintet with Charlie Mariano. Though recorded in 1958, the album remained unreleased until 1986. This session features a quintet with Harold Land (ts), Victor Feldman (p), Leroy Vinnegar (b), and Stan Levey (ds). The album includes outstanding performances, such as the superbly arranged cover of Cole Porter's classic on A1. While it is considered one of the first true hard bop recordings made on the West Coast, it carries a notably relaxed atmosphere, unmistakably infused with the essence of West Coast jazz.
