George Adams is a saxophonist who left numerous masterpieces, including the 1979 work Paradise Space Shuttle that was featured in the first edition of the guidebook Obscure Sound, and Sound Suggestions released by ECM. He has also participated in many famous works, ranging from spiritual musicians like Hannibal, McCoy Tyner, and Cecil McBee to soul acts like The Fatback Band. This 1986 album with his longtime collaborator, pianist Don Pullen, features recordings from a live performance at the renowned Danish club Jazzhus Montmartre in 1985 with a quartet that includes Cameron Brown (bass), Dannie Richmond (drums), and John Scofield (guitar). The inclusion of Scofield's edgy guitar adds a different dimension to the quartet's sound, which is very appealing. Highly recommended and well worth listening to.
