This 1983 album by American saxophonist George Adams, whose quintet work "Paradise Space Shuttle" from 1979 was featured in the first edition of the guidebook "Obscure Sound" is a remarkable release. It is a quartet work featuring Don Pullen on piano, Cameron Brown on bass, and Dannie Richmond on drums. All tracks showcase impressive hard bop performances, elevated by Adams' unique sense of groove. Spiritual jazz tracks A1 and B3, infused with Adams' distinctive style, evoke the visionary sounds of John Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders. Highly recommended is Pullen's composition A2, which exudes a mellow and serene Brazilian jazz atmosphere.
