A double album released in 1973 by Japanese drummer George Otsuka, who made his mark in Sadao Watanabe's group in 1957 and joined Hidehiko Matsumoto's quartet in 1964. The album features a live recording from a concert held at Tokyo Kosei Nenkin Small Hall in the same year, performed by a quintet with Shunzo Ohno (tp, fh), Mamoru Yamaguchi (ts, ss), Toshiyuki Daitoku (el-p, p), and Mitsuaki Furuno (b). It includes the dark jazz-funk track A1 influenced by Miles Davis's "Bitches Brew," a groovy cover of a standard composed by Cole Porter on B2, and another funky cover of a piece co-composed by Miles Davis and Ron Carter on B2. This masterpiece allows you to experience the unique groove of Otsuka during this period, influenced by Miles Davis and John Coltrane in his pursuit of modal jazz. Highly recommended.

A1: Afternoon Walk

B2: I Love You
D2: 81
