An album released in 1960 by John Jenkins (as), Clifford Jordan (ts), and Bobby Timmons (p), who had collaborated with many jazz musicians since the 1950s and made their mark on Prestige's New Jazz label. The album features recordings from a quintet session with Wilbur Ware (b) and Dannie Richmond (ds) in a New York studio in 1957. Tracks like the lively A1, with its Afro-Cuban rhythms and robust horn ensemble, and the urban ballad A2, where each solo unfolds in a mellow, metropolitan atmosphere, showcase excellent performances characterized by a very stable groove throughout. This album, which was reissued on Original Jazz Classics in 1986, offers a masterful display of musical prowess.
