This is a leader album released in 1986 by American saxophonist Joe Lovano, known for his collaborations with Lonnie Smith on mid-70s masterpieces like "Afrodesia" and "Keep on Lovin'," as well as with ECM artists like Paul Motian and John Abercrombie, and European musicians including Henri Texir. Alongside Lovano are Belgian and Dutch jazz musicians, including Michel Herr (piano), known for his 1978 classic "Ouverture Eclair," Bert Joris (flugelhorn/trumpet), Hein Van de Geyn (bass), and Dre Pallemaerts (drums). Although rooted in orthodox bop style, the album features compositions and arrangements reminiscent of Woody Shaw's historic masterpiece "Love Dance," particularly striking in track A3, while track B3 showcases Herr's emotive piano paired with Lovano's soprano saxophone ensemble, offering a glimpse into refined contemporary jazz. It's a hidden gem worth recommending.

A3: H and C’s Dance
B3: A Picture of Her
