This album was released in 1969 by the quartet of saxophonist John Carter and trumpeter Bobby Bradford, who emerged on the West Coast in the 1960s as The New Jazz Art Ensmeble and played with Hamton Waves and Harold Land. The album features Tom Williamson (b) and Buzz Freeman (ds). Like Ornette Coleman and Don Cherry, who also started their career on the West Coast, the quartet pursued free jazz that went one step beyond the bop style, and their cutting-edge performances were extremely thrilling and exciting. B2 is also great as it takes you into a deep worldview that develops into improvisation while repeating short scale shifts in a minimalist manner.
