American pianist Kenny Drew, who relocated from the U.S. to Europe in the 1960s and gained high acclaim, teamed up with his longtime collaborator, Danish bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, for this second duo album, released in 1974 on SteepleChase. A masterpiece much like their first album, this record features a mix of original compositions and traditional pieces, incorporating both piano and bass solos. Highlights include A2 and B2, where Drew's endlessly elegant and lyrical piano blends beautifully with Pedersen's warm-toned bass.
