American vocalist Lauren Newton, who has showcased her rare vocalization in countless sessions including with the Frederic Rabold Crew and the Vienna Art Orchestra, as well as in collaborative works with Masahiko Togashi, released this album in 1988. Joined by Austrian jazz musicians Uli Scherer and Thomas Horstmann, it features recordings from a 1987 concert in Switzerland. While at times revealing moments of uplifting beauty, the music as a whole unfolds through a free-form approach employing sampling and synthesizers, with Newton’s magical voicing weaving an astonishingly avant-garde sound world. An incredible work of free improvisation, brilliant from start to finish.
