In the late 1960s, Marcia Hines, an American soul singer who had moved to Australia, gained attention by appearing in the Australian versions of the musicals "Hair" and "Jesus Christ Superstar." She released her debut solo album in 1975, which showcased her talent as a singer and marked the beginning of her successful career in the forefront of the music scene. While the album includes the upbeat and joyful track B2, known as a classic of free soul from the 1990s, and is recognized in various circles domestically since the 1990s, my personal favorite is the modern soul tune B5, which features a bluesy edge and incorporates influences from Curtis Mayfield and other new soul artists, showcasing a sophisticated sound production that resonates with me.
