An album released in 1978 by Masahiko Tanaka, a Japanese double bassist who is active as a member of the NHK Symphony Orchestra and also gains recognition as a chamber musician and soloist. It is from Level Fontec, which Kojima Yukio of Kojima Recordings was also involved in founding. Compositions for double bass by Akira Miyoshi, Shin-ichiro Ikebe, Ryohei Hirose, and Yoshihisa Taira are featured on this album, and while A1 by Miyoshi and B1 by Hirose, both featuring Seimon Aruga, principal timpani player of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, are very impressive, A2 by Ikebe, which incorporates the idea of electronic music that emits indeterminate sounds that are electrically amplified and modulated, is outstanding.

A1: Akira Miyoshi “Litania”
A2: Shin-ichiro Ikebe “Monovalence V”
