An album released in 1983 by Czech jazz bassist Miroslav Vitous, known for his exceptional skill and talent, who made his mark with Weather Report and numerous sessions, released on ECM. The quartet features an outstanding lineup with John Surman (soprano sax, baritone sax, bass clarinet), John Taylor (piano), and Jon Christensen (drums). The album includes tracks like A1, an arrangement of a Czech folk song that begins with Vitous' shadowy bass solo, A3, with its light, ethnic beat and soaring soprano melody that feels uplifting, and B2, featuring an atmospheric soundscape of subtle color depiction—each track is exceptionally brilliant. Highly recommended. The vinyl was only released in Germany and Japan.
A1: U Dunaje U Prespurka
A3: Carry On, No.1
