A very fascinating record has just arrived! This is a double album released in 1979 by Nippon Columbia, featuring recordings of 80 languages from around the world. The structure of the album is also highly intriguing. It begins with an introduction using Japanese as an example, then moves on to Korean, Mongolian, Beijing and Cantonese Chinese, and Taiwanese. It continues southward to include languages from Southeast Asia, such as Filipino, Indonesian, and Thai, before progressing to the languages of India. From Hindi, the journey moves to Nepal, Persian languages including Iran, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, and then across Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the island nations of the South Pacific, Ainu, and finally concludes with the artificial language Esperanto. While it was originally designed for educational purposes, it also seems to have great potential as a DJ or sampling tools.
