An album released in 1982 by American tenor saxophonist Ricky Ford, who joined the Duke Ellington Orchestra led by Mercer Ellington at the young age of 22 in 1976 and subsequently played with many masters such as Charles Mingus' group, Dannie Richmond, George Russell, Beaver Harris, and Dollar Brand. The album features a quartet with John Hicks (p), Walter Booker (b), and Jimmy Cobb (ds), with Wallace Roney (tp) and Robert Watson (as) participating in only two tracks. The recording was done by Rudy Van Gelder. Highlights include the slow ballad A2, where Ford's moody and expressive melodies stand out, and B3, where his soaring saxophone solo dances over a lively bossa rhythm. This hidden gem features outstanding performances from the rhythm section, led by Hicks.
