This album features live recordings from a concert held at Middelheim in Antwerp, Belgium in 1974, where American saxophonist Stan Getz, representing West Coast cool jazz, collaborated with pianist Bill Evans, who incorporated impressionistic tendencies of early 20th-century musicians into jazz and influenced many others. The trio, led by Evans, also includes Eddie Gomez on bass and Marty Morell on drums. The Age of Getz, at 47, and Evans, at 45, deliver a performance at the peak of their abilities, infusing their cool designs with sensuality and showcasing exquisite post bop. Though likely an unofficial release from the 90s, this album is a rare gem as it seems to be the only existing pressing on vinyl. While there are minor scuffs on the surface of the record due to the paper inner sleeve, they hardly affect the playback quality.
