This 1980 leader album by American pianist Steve Dobrogosz, who had been active across jazz, pop, and classical genres since the mid-1970s, was recorded after his move to Stockholm, Sweden, in 1978. Dobrogosz collaborated with jazz singers Radka Toneff, Berit Andersson, and Pia Raug before releasing this album. It features a trio with Tommy Johnson (bass) and Petur Östlund (drums). The album opens with A1, a track that begins with simple, repetitive piano riffs evoking a sense of vast natural beauty reminiscent of Pat Metheny. Throughout, Dobrogosz showcases his unique approach, blending contemporary jazz with influences from country, blues, and rock. A highly recommended listen for fans of Michel Herr.
