A landmark work released in 1982 by American composer and sound designer Suzanne Ciani, widely respected for her mastery of the Buchla synthesizer and known for her extensive work creating electronic sound effects for films and television commercials throughout the 1970s. Highlights include the beautiful A2, where the gentle sound of ocean waves merges with layers of melancholic synthesizer tones rendered in a lush, wet timbre, and the superb A3, featuring repeating ascending and descending arpeggios alongside a synthesizer melody with a subtly exotic touch that feels wonderfully uplifting. The album presents a collection of breezy, emotionally resonant electronic music rarely encountered within the world of synthesizer recordings. Highly recommended. Japanese promo pressing complete with obi and insert.
