A compilation album released in 1969 as the 15th volume of Japan Victor's "Contemporary Music of Japan" series, containing four works of electronic music created at NHK Electronic Music Studio in 1954. "Mandara" on A1 by Toshiro Mayuzumi consists of pure sound and white noise electronic sounds, while the second half is a music concrete collage of human voices. Maki Ishii's "Kyoo" on A2 is an electronic sound piece that transforms piano and orchestra performances through a modulator. "Shosanke" on B1 by Makoto Moroi is a variation of six different shakuhachi (bamboo flute), a conch shell, a futozao (a large pole), and a shamisen (a three-stringed Japanese banjo), all processed and synthesized electronically. "Improvisations" on B2 by Namio Shibata is an electronic collage in which electronic sounds such as sine waves and sawtooth waves are modulated, rising and falling. All of these works are historical icons of the first electronic music in Japan, and even today, their acoustics are overwhelming in their experimental spirit. The fractal artwork by Kohei Sugiura is also superb. Original pressing of catalog number VX-99.

A1: 黛敏郎 “まんだら”
A2: 石井眞木 “響応”
B1: 諸井誠 “小懺悔”
B2: 柴田南雄 “インプロヴィゼーション”
