American percussionist Willie Bobo—active since the early 1950s with leading Latin-tinged jazz groups led by Mongo Santamaria, Cal Tjader, and Chico Hamilton, and later responsible for many fine recordings under his own name—released this album on Blue Note in 1977. Best known for the dancefloor classic A2 and the groovy Latin jazz–funk of B4, the set also shines on the gorgeously arranged slow Latin jazz pieces A3/B3 and the superbly mature soul cut B5, steeped in late-night atmosphere. An evergreen, highly recommended title. Matrix details suggest an earliest pressing.
A3: Keep On Walking
B3: Time After Time
B4: Kojak-Theme
