Pastels (Germany) 1978
G-ST-2016 (LP) Original pressing.
sleeve : VG+(SRW, SPSE: 2cm crack on side, some wear on edge and corner, wrinkles, color-fade.)
media : VG+/VG+(some light noise caused by slightly hairlines.)
The debut album from guitarist Alex De Grassi, released in 1978, who went on to release numerous acclaimed works on Windham Hill Records, the New Age label founded by his uncle William Ackerman. Already fully formed as both a composer and performer, De Grassi showcases his remarkable talent here through shimmering acoustic tones and fluid arpeggios that evoke the gentle sparkle of sunlight filtering through trees — a beautifully soothing and immersive acoustic sound. This German pressing features alternate artwork and a slightly wetter, more full-bodied mastering compared to the Windham Hill edition, giving the music an added warmth and depth.
