German guitarist Gunther Beckers, who released only four albums and one 7-inch single on his independent label Milky-Music between 1979 and 1984, released this album in 1979 together with a mysterious Turkish-sounding guitarist named Ozkan Yalkinoglu. It features a live recording from a performance at the Neue Galerie inside the Ludwig Museum in Aachen, a city in western Germany. Performed as a duo on 6-string and 12-string guitars, the music doesn’t yet exhibit the sense of intoxication found in Beckers’ 1982 album Walkman, which was later reissued by Music From Memory. Still, the way both musicians layer melodies with strong attacks on acoustic guitars creates a beautifully pastoral soundscape. On the back of the jacket, there’s a stamp and handwritten signature that also appear on his 1988 work Finnische Fragmente.
