A 1973 masterpiece by the great Italian cantautore Lucio Battisti, also known among dedicated disco fans for “Il Veliero (Love on the Rocks),” later covered by Chaplin Band and Lama. A3 is especially striking, with polyrhythmic Afro percussion, Battisti’s primitive, heavily effected vocals, and spacey synthesizer effects flying across the stereo field. B4 opens with a majestic atmosphere before developing into psychedelic, progressive symphonic rock. Throughout the album, Battisti absorbs and transforms a wide range of styles, from canzone and folk to rock, into songs with a strong sense of message and conviction. Italian pressing with the regular sleeve.
