EMI Svenska AB (Sweden) 1976
4E 062-35291 (LP) Coated jacket, original inner sleeve
sleeve : EX+(very slight fading in some areas)
media : EX/EX(slight crackle in some areas, some very light scuffs that do not affect playback)
This is the second album released in 1976 by the quintet led by bassist Bjorn Alke, who received the award in 1973 and debuted with Caprice Records the following year. The members of this album are Ed Epstein (ts), Goran Strandberg (p), and Frederik Noren (ds). Featuring singer Lulu Engdahl, from bluesy jazz vocals such as the Billie Holiday cover A1 and Mose Allison cover A3, to original songs by the members, this hidden masterpiece showcases smooth contemporary jazz with a very soft and delicate touch and beautiful descriptive imagery. It's easy to listen to. Bjorn Alke's A2/B1 are cool spiritual jazz that blends Nordic folk sentiment with mode, which is unique to Scandinavia. Highly recommended.
