Featured in the first edition of the guidebook Obscure Sound. The only vinyl release by obscure Dutch artist Henk Werkhoven, who apparently continues to make music quietly to this day, originally self-released in 1982. Musically, the album sits somewhere between symphonic progressive rock and traditional folk, but B2 is by far the standout track. Built around a raga-like drone of sitar and tambura, with earthy flute playing a deeply nostalgic melody, it unfolds as a profoundly spiritual, ethnic-tinged jazz-rock piece with an almost weightless sense of drift. The flowing sound of wind chimes also resonates beautifully throughout. A remarkable hidden gem.
