This is a double album released in 1975 by Paul Bley, one of Canada's leading jazz pianists known for his participation in ensembles like the Ornette Coleman Quartet and the Jazz Composer's Orchestra. He is also a central figure in the New York Loft Jazz scene. Disc 1 features recordings made in 1965 in Copenhagen, Denmark, with a trio consisting of Kent Carter on bass and Barry Altschul on drums. Disc 2 contains recordings made in Haarlem, Netherlands, with a trio that includes Mark Levenson on bass. The albums include some of Bley's most significant repertoire, such as 'Closer,' 'Blood,' and 'Mister Joy,' which were composed by Carla Bley and Annette Peacock. These tracks are performed in a cool and deep style.
