An album released in 1980 by Willie Colón, a pioneer who has led the salsa scene for many years, starting his career as a trombonist before also excelling as a singer and producer, and Ismael Miranda, a Puerto Rican-born singer representing New York salsa. Featuring outstanding musicians such as Milton Cardona (percussion) and José Mangual Jr. (percussion), both of whom have also released excellent works on Kip Hanrahan’s label American Clave, this masterpiece showcases highly sophisticated New York salsa throughout. The funky groove of B3 is exceptionally cool and highly recommended.
