1985 outing by Brazilian singer/songwriter Roberto Ribeiro—best known as a member of the legendary samba school Império Serrano, and as a gifted composer whose career blossomed from the 1960s onward. He also left us the celebrated collaboration with Simone, A Bruxelles Brasil Export/73. Here, Ribeiro delivers a rich program combining his own originals with co-writes alongside Zé Luiz and Toninho Nascimento, plus inspired readings of songs by Chico Buarque and João Nogueira. The set moves effortlessly from vibrant, tradition-rooted samba to Ribeiro’s signature streetwise soft-samba and mellow samba grooves. Particular highlights are B2 and B6, both arranged by the great Hélio Delmiro—highly recommended cuts that perfectly showcase Ribeiro’s warmth and rhythmic finesse.

B2: Pedra Falsa
B6: Levante
