A split album featuring Buenos Aires–born tango singer Susana Rinaldi, who has also been active as an actress since the late 1960s, and none other than Astor Piazzolla, the maestro who defined Argentine Tango Nuevo—each taking one side of the record. Side A showcases Susana Rinaldi focusing mainly on traditional Argentine tango, with nostalgic sounds highlighted by gorgeous strings and melancholic acoustic guitar that perfectly complement her powerful vocals. Side B, of course, belongs to Piazzolla, whose playing needs no introduction—an endlessly moving, passionate world with truly remarkable performances. The occasional avant-garde arrangements only further testify to his genius. Original Argentine pressing.
