The event successfully concluded on Sunday, August 31st.
Thank you very much for your many visits!

I will be presenting a sound installation, the culmination of multichannel playback experiments and practices conducted to date, including CAMP Off-Tone in Hakushu-Ojiro in 2023, Audio Base Camp at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media in 2024, and this year's live performance in LA with miku-mari. The venue is , which houses VDS, a record shop that opened last year under the elevated tracks in Kameari.

For this exhibition, eight "Tornado Small" omnidirectional speakers from Goka Sound Lab will be arranged in a straight line at equal intervals in the central corridor of SKAC. We have built a system that randomly plays 80 different sound sources, including very simple melodies from keyboard and string instruments, metallic percussion sounds, and environmental sounds. Each sound, so to speak, behaves freely, dispersing into the space and mixing, ensuring that no two moments will ever be the same. I myself do not know what kind of sonic landscape will emerge.

Accidental music born from the chain and circulation of sound and environment. Breathing music. Music that might not even be called music. Music that can be listened to or not listened to. With respect and gratitude to John Cage and Brian Eno.

If you have the time, please come and visit. I will be at the venue for a few hours on the last day, so please feel free to say hello.

VDS / SKAC presents
“Environmental Sound & Audio Experience“

SKAC (SKWAT KAMEARI ART CENTRE) is located between Kameari Station and Ayase Station.
The central corridor of SKAC, under the JR Joban Line elevated tracks, is over 30 meters long. Designed with human fluidity in mind, people's walking directions are not constant, and many people, including us, cross paths daily. Occasionally, trains pass overhead, and the sound of their wheels hitting the tracks echoes softly throughout the building.
This time, "Tornado small" omnidirectional speakers from Goka Sound Lab will be placed in the central corridor among the movement of people during the exhibition period. Sound supervised and designed by artist Chee Shimizu, who has had a significant impact on DJ and listening scenes, will be played through 8 speakers, creating sound throughout the entire building. This will create an experience where sound spreads freely 360 degrees, changes, and intersects with people.

CAMP Off-Tone in Hakushu-Ojiro 2023, Audio Base Camp at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media 2024, and the live performance in Los Angeles with miku-mari in thi year… I have explored and refined multichannel playback through a series of experiments and practical applications. Now, I present the culmination of that process as a sound installation.
The venue is SKWAT KAMEARI ART CENTRE, home to the second hand record shop called VDS, which opened under the train overpass in Kameari last year.

For this installation, eight "Tornado Small" omnidirectional speakers by Goka Sound Lab will be placed in a straight line at equal intervals along the central corridor of SKAC.
The system will randomly play 80 different sound sources—including minimal instrumental melodies, metallic percussions, and environmental sounds—through all eight speakers.
Each sound moves freely, dispersing into the space, never to repeat in the same way again. I myself have no idea what kind of sonic landscape will emerge.

Music born from the chain and circulation of sound and environment. Music that may not even be called music. Music that can be listened to—or not. With respect to John Cage and Brian Eno.

The exhibition will run for a short period, but if you have the chance, I encourage you to stop by. I’ll be at the venue for a few hours on the first and final days, so feel free to come say hello.
