This album was released in 1983 by Adama Drame, a percussionist from Burkina Faso, who has produced numerous works of African folk music since the late 1970s. This album contains long solo performances on the djembe: A1 is an improvisation of over 16 minutes based on the traditional rhythms of the Mandinka tribe, A2 introduces the rhythms of the Griot ritual dance, B1 is a complete improvisation of more than 10 minutes, with the indigenous beat of the djembe, which has a dry tone and a taut attack, creating a strong groove.
