A 1966 album by American pianist Ahmad Jamal, who had been active since the 1950s and left behind numerous classics including At the Pershing: But Not for Me. Recorded the same year at a studio in Washington, D.C., the album features Jamal in a trio with Jamil Nasser (b) and Frank Gant (ds). The repertoire includes the Irving Berlin-penned title track A1, Sonny Rollins’ signature composition A5, and the jazz standard B1 by Erroll Garner and Johnny Burke, among many other well-known tunes. A superb recording that captures Jamal at his best, with his soft touch and vivid, beautifully articulated melodic sense. Original US mono pressing.

A1: Heat Wave
B1: Misty
B2: Maybe September
