Marc Hollander - Aksak Maboul
Onze Danses Pour Combattre La Migraine
Crammed Discs (Belgium) 1981
CRAM 011 (LP)
sleeve : EX (light scuffs on some parts of the sides/corners)
media : EX-/EX (some slight crackling noise, A2/A5/A6: some slight crackling noise due to small scuffs)
Aksak Maboul, an avant-garde group formed by Belgian genius composer Marc Hollander and Vincent Kenis, released this masterpiece in 1977. This is a re-issue released in 1981 by Crammed Discs, the renowned Belgian label founded by Marc Hollander. Dan Lackman, a member of the Belgian synth-pop group Telex, participated as recording/mixing engineer, and Marc Moulin, also a member of the same group, produced it. This is a formidable album filled with bizarre contemporary art electronic magic from beginning to end. It has a certain connection to Brazilian avant-garde as well. A2/B4 show hints of Terry Riley's influence in their minimal electronics.
A2: Animaux Velpeau
A4: Son of L'idiot
B4: Comme on a Dit
