This is the first leader album by American bassist Alan Silva—known for his work as a member of the Sun Ra Arkestra and for participating in sessions with legendary musicians such as Archie Shepp, Albert Ayler, and Sunny Murray—released in 1969 as part of the renowned Actuel series on the French label BYG. A powerful free jazz orchestra work, it features a stellar lineup including Archie Shepp, Grachan Moncur III, Anthony Braxton, Kenneth Terroade, Dave Burrell, Leroy Jenkins, Beb Guérin, Bernard Vitet, Claude Delcloo, and Malachi Favors. The influence of Sun Ra is unmistakable, even in the album’s title. Both sides feature sessions of just over 14 minutes. Intense. Original French pressing.
Please note that there is one pressing-error in the middle of side A, and three more towards the end of side B.
