This album features Italian pianist Aldo Ciccolini performing the works of Erik Satie, a French composer from the late 19th to early 20th century, who is also known for his "Furniture Music," which inspired Brian Eno to advocate ambient music. The album features Satie's representative works such as "Three Gymnopédies" and "Three Gnossiennes", but also features his early works "Ojive (4 pieces)" and "Three Sarabande", which he composed when he was 20 years old. Aldo Ciccolini's performance seems to be faithful to the score.
