An album in which Italian pianist Aldo Ciccolini performs works by Erik Satie, a singular composer from the late 19th to early 20th century, known for his "furniture music," which also inspired Brian Eno to advocate ambient music. On side A, you can listen to beautifully nostalgic performances by Ciccolini of works composed in the 1890s, such as "Quatre Préludes," "Prélude de la Porte Héroïque du Ciel," and "Pièces Froides." On side B, he plays early 1900s pieces like "Véritables Préludes Flasques," "Embryons Desséchés," and "Sports et Divertissements."
