An album released in 1983 by Alhaji Chief Sikiru Ayinde Barrister and his group, His Supreme Fuji Commanders. Alongside King Sunny Ade, Barrister is one of Nigeria's most prominent artists, having released a vast number of works under various aliases since the 1960s. This album features Fuji, a dance music genre that Barrister himself developed, emerging from the Yoruba Muslim community. The music is characterized by unique "Fuji Garbage" slang singing, accompanied by a distinctive percussive ensemble including talking drums, the sakara (a frame drum), and the bata (a two-headed drum), creating a one-of-a-kind groove. Like Sunny Ade, Barrister's tracks flow seamlessly without interruption, making for an incredibly captivating listening experience. Highly recommended.
