This is an album released in 1977 by Le Likenbe Geant, a group formed by Andre Nkouka, who was born in Mbanbari, Ngamaba district of the former Zaire Republic and worked as an accompanist for religious songs. According to the description on the back of the cover, the group won the first prize at the Festival des Arts Nègres in Dakar, and also participated in the R.D.A.'s World Youth Festival in Berlin. This is an undiscovered masterpiece of African folky grooves, with the warm and soothing sound of a large thumb piano, a traditional Congolese instrument made of mangrove wood called xansi, and the exquisite vocals and chorus. No matter where you drop the needle, you will hear a wonderful piece of music.
