A 1989 album by Swiss electric harpist Andreas Vollenweider, known for numerous new age and ambient works with a distinctly Balearic atmosphere. His sound has remained highly original since his debut, and this album continues to unfold within the same delicate, crystalline, almost utopian musical world. Compared with his earlier works, however, it incorporates a stronger Asian and ethnic sensibility, with the timbres of traditional instruments such as the kokyu and Turkish saz further expanding its exotic and evocative atmosphere.
