Released in 1979, this album features drummer Andrew Cyrille, who participated in sessions with Coleman Hawkins and Ted Curson in his teens, joined the Cecil Taylor Unit in the mid-60s, and supported Taylor's sound for many years thereafter; singer Jeanne Lee, known for her collaborations with Marion Brown and Gunter Hampel; and saxophonist Jimmy Lyons, who was Cecil Taylor's right-hand man for a long time. The album features a wonderful free improvisation with an Afro-ethnic flair, utilizing various ethnic percussion instruments. Highlights include A2, where Cyrille's warm thumb piano sound intertwines with Lee's soft vocals and Lyons' free saxophone. Highly recommended.
