This is a leader album by American pianist Andrew Hill, who left many masterpieces for Blue Note from the mid-60s to the early 70s, released on East Wind in 1977 under the supervision of Toshinari Koinume. Recorded in a New York studio in 1975 with Jimmy Vass (ss,as,fl), Chris White (b) and Leroy Williams (ds). The A-side features two superb contemporary jazz tunes that sway coolly while keeping the tension low, while the B-side is a steady bop-based performance. Although the types are completely different, Hill's playing has a lyrical quality somewhat in common with Keith Jarrett's. The artwork photography is by Tadayuki Naito. Recommended.
