Andy LaVerne Quartet
Frozen Music
SteepleChase (Holland) 1989
SCS 1244 (LP)
sleeve : EX-(some light dirts and color-faded.)
media : EX+/EX+(some slightly noises.)

Leader album released in 1989 by American pianist Andy LaVerne, who was part of Woody Herman's group in the early 70s and also played on such albums as 'Eight Mile Road' and 'Juice' by Ryo Kawasaki. The quartet features Rick Margita (sax), who has released works on Blue Note, Marc Johnson (b), who has left his mark on ECM and Cryonic INc. and Danny Gottlieb (ds), a member of the early Pat Metheny Group. The quartet played original scores by LaVerne, and performed urban new jazz with an elegant touch, ranging from orthodox bop to the sophisticated contemporary jazz of ECM's works.
