An album released in 1976 by Anthony Braxton, a member of Chicago's avant-garde arts organization AACM, who has produced over 100 works and played various reed instruments since the 1960s. Composed for a large ensemble that could be recorded, it features AACM musicians such as Roscoe Mitchell (reeds), Leo Smith (trumpet), Muhal Richard Abrams (piano), Wallen Smith (drums, percussion), and Phillip Wilson (drums, percussion), as well as Kenny Wheeler (trumpet), Dave Holland (bass), Barry Altschul (drums), and Karl Berger (vibraphone). The album showcases Braxton's unique graphical score compositions, creating a sonically structured jazz orchestra. Although often perceived as complex, it is said to be quite easy to play.
