The original soundtrack album for Black Orpheus (Orfeu Negro), a 1959 French-Brazilian-Italian co-production directed by Marcel Camus. Filmed entirely in Rio de Janeiro in 1958, the film’s music was composed by bossa nova masters Antonio Carlos Jobim and Luiz Bonfá. The soundtrack blends field recordings from Rio’s Carnival with scenes from the film in a collage-like structure, resulting in an exceptionally high-quality and artistically cohesive album.
