Four American jazz musicians based in New York City, Harvey Sorgen (ds), Walter Thompson (as), Robert Windbiel (g), and Steve Rust (b), released their only album in 1981 under the name ARC Quartet. The album features a wide range of jazz styles, from orthodox bop-like themes that break down as the interplay progresses, to interesting guitar playing by Robert Windbiel reminiscent of Henry Kaiser and Fred Frith, and offers a glimpse of the fullness of New York underground jazz at the time.
