Album released in 1976 by Archie Shepp, a gem of a saxophonist who, along with John Coltrane and Cecil Tayler, produced many African-retro jazz masterpieces. Recorded live at the East-West Festival in Nuremberg, Germany, with Cameron Brown (b) and Beaver Harris (ds). Shepp's elegant piano can be heard in the second half of A1, a gentle groove to Duke Ellington's 'Solitude'. B1, the title track, runs with a light groove, while B1, a long session clocking in at nearly 19 minutes, expresses a message from his late friend John Coltrane in sound.
