The Alternate Express
DIW (Japan) 1989
DIW-8033 (LP) Blue vinyl, w/insert.
sleeve : EX(one small and slightly dirt.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly noises.)

Album released in 1989 by Art Ensemble of Chicago, an American Chicago group of Lester Bowie, Joeph Jarman, Roscoe Mitchell, Malachi Favors, and Don Moye that develops free/experimental jazz with its roots in traditional African music. This is the third album from the period when the Disc Union-affiliated label DIW was under contract with AEOC, and was recorded that same year at a studio in their home base of Chicago. AEOC's quintessential mysterious jungle sound, with its various clanging percussion and floating leads, is in full bloom on this album, but with an even sharper expression than on earlier works and those from the ECM era.
