Released in 1974, this duo album brings together New York-born pianist and drummer Art Lande, a Grammy-nominated artist, and Norwegian reed player Jan Garbarek, who has left behind numerous masterpieces for ECM. Highlights include B1, where Garbarek’s lustrous, soaring soprano saxophone intertwines with the spiritual rhythms of Lande’s delicate, crystalline acoustic piano, and B2, where softly played piano and flute seem to drift weightlessly through silence. Throughout the album, the music creates an extraordinarily beautiful, abstract soundscape, like a vast grassland enveloped in deep mist.
